Armenian State Pedagogical University named after Khachatur Abovyan is being accredited for the third time. Within the scope of institutional accreditation, an expert group visited the university on May 20.
From 20 to 24 May, the representatives of the National Center for Professional Education Quality Assurance Foundation (ANQA) will assess the progress at the University since the previous accreditation and implementation of the quality improvement programme.
The members of the expert panel will have meetings and discussions with the University rector, vice-rectors, deans, self-assessment implementation team, quality assurance specialists, heads of chairs, teaching staff, students, alumni and employees. They will also make a review of documents and resources.
The group is supervised by Kristine Soghikyan, Head of the Chair of English Communication and Translation at Brusov State University of Languages and Social Sciences. The group members are Peter Karis, a senior adviser at the Accreditation Organization of the Netherlands and Flanders (NVAO), PhD Candidate in Biological Sciences, Gagik Ktryan, Deputy Head of the Information and Public Relations Department at the Ministry of Defense, PhD Candidate in Physics and Mathematics, Narine Khachatryan, Head of the Chair of Personality Psychology (YSU) and PhD Candidate in Psychology, and YSU Srbuhi Michikyan.
The accreditation process is coordinated by Ani Mkrtchyan, a specialist of ANQA Institutional and Program Accreditation Division.
ASPU was accredited in 2015. The University is re-accredited every four years.
