On May 18, a group of ASPU representatives led by Rector Srbuhi Gevorgyan visited Moscow State University of Psychology and Education (MSUPE).
The aim of the two-day visit was to have exchange of experience, become familiar with Russian colleagues’ achievements in training specialists, providing psychological support in the educational system, developing a joint strategy of cooperation, etc.
The ASPU delegates visited the scientific centers of the Russian university, met with their heads, and discussed programs aimed at fostering cooperation.
On the second day of the visit, the guests participated in a roundtable entitled "Psychological Assistance in Education: Best Psychological Practices in Educational System” dedicated to the perspectives of cooperation between the two universities in question - ASPU and MSUPE.
In his welcome speech, Alexey Blaginin, Director of the Department of Training, Professional Development and Social Security of Pedagogical Workers of the Ministry of Education of the Russian Federation, stressed that development of international cooperation in education and science, expansion of international programs and exchange of experience are currently of particular importance.
The Russian official emphasized that the two countries have a serious potential to develop cooperation in the field of education and science. At this stage, he considers it necessary to develop a common strategy for the HEIs of Russia and Armenia for training staff in the educational system, developing scientific cooperation, and implementing cooperation between universities.
During the roundtable discussion, the main areas of cooperation between the universities were outlined and highlighted. Also, the sides signed an agreement of intent on deepening cooperation.
The agreement envisages establishing partnership relations and developing long-term, effective and mutually beneficial cooperation in training staff in the education system and accompanying educational institutions, carrying out research, scientific, analytical and consulting activity to ensure dissemination of the best pedagogical and consulting practices in the field of public education in Armenia and Russia.
ASPU Rector Srbuhi Gevorgyan noted that this is not their first positive attempt of cooperation with MSUPE.
"Wonderful specialists and professionals work here (MSUPE). We have been convinced of it many times. For many year, the professional potential of the University remains at a high level. The experience of Moscow State University of Psychology and Education, which combines the best experience of solving current issues in the educational system, is necessary for specialists of our university. They will test certain methods and programs in their chairs to solve modern problems," she stressed.
During the two-day visit, the ASPU representatives also visited the scientific centers of the Russian university and discussed a number of partnership programs and projects with their Russian colleagues.
