The next meeting of the “Ushinsky Club” international youth debate club has been held within the framework of the cooperation between Armenian State Pedagogical University (ASPU) and Armavir State Pedagogical University of the Russian Federation.
During the third debate which was held tête-à-tête representatives of the educational institutions discussed the advantages and disadvantages of artificial intelligence, the importance of artificial intelligence in today’s world, as well as cases of its application.
Students from Armavir State Pedagogical University, as well as Vice-Rector for Research, Innovation and International Affairs of the University Roman Blizniak, and Head of International Projects Lyudmila Khludova in online and face-to-face formats.
ASPU was represented by a group of students. The moderator of the debate was Doctor of Mathematical Sciences, Professor Lusine Ghulghazaryan.
Anna Hakhumyan, Deputy Head of the ASPU International Unit, welcomed the Russian colleagues saying they were very happy to host them ASPU. She added that all conditions and opportunities have been provided to effectively organize and support the work of the debate club.
Roman Blizniak, Vice-Rector for Research, Innovation and International Affairs at Armavir State Pedagogical University, thanked the Armenian side for the opportunity. He confessed as a person who lived in the Soviet times, he prefers a calculator to artificial intelligence. "Perhaps during today's debate, the participants will be able to convince me that artificial intelligence is really useful and important," the vice-rector said.
Before the start of the debate, Lusine Ghulghazaryan spoke about the machine learning efforts in the 50s of the last century which aimed to collect and process as much data as possible. Then she spoke about the development and distribution of networks and mechanisms of their control.
As the debate continued, everyone presented their knowledge and understanding of artificial intelligence, highlighting its positive and negative sides.
At the end of the meeting, the participants received certificates.
