Karine Hovhannisyan, a fourth-year student of the Faculty of Philology, is doing her pedagogical internship in the school of Chinari village in Armenia’s Tavush Marz (province).
The student went to Chinari on a voluntary basis to get familiarized with the daily life of the village school and collect material on her final work.
Recently, the frontier village hosted Ashot Galstyan, Dean of the Faculty of Philology and Vahan Sargsyan, Head of the Internship Centre.
During the meeting with the guests, Greta Dallakyan, Principal of the secondary school named after freedom fighter Vahram Saghoyan, welcomed the student’s move saying ‘Karine has brought a breath of fresh air to the village school.’
The ASPU representatives also participated in the lesson of Armenian Literature conducted by Karine Hovhannisyan. Ashot Galstyan said the student used new teaching methods throughout the lesson arousing interest among the pupils.
A meeting was also held with the 12th graders during which the ASPU representatives presented the history, specialties and admission procedure of the University. Some of the pupils have already decided to become teachers and continue studies at ASPU.
During the visit, Ashot Galstyan and Vahan Sargsyan donated 50 books and manuals to the school library. The village school has 94 students.
