Associate Professor Irina Shapovalenko, PhD in Psychology, Head of the Department of Age Psychology named after Prof. L.F. Obukhova at Moscow State Psychological and Pedagogical University (MSPPU) delivered a public lecture at ASPU on November 8.
The lecture entitled "Contemporary Issues in Developmental Psychology” was based on the example of research carried out in the Chair of Developmental Psychology named after L. F. Obukhova.
During the lecture, Shapovalenko underscored the importance of cooperation between the two educational institutions in question and expressed hope that the partnership will continue in different directions in the near future.
Citing the psychological concept of the famous psychologist Lev Vygotsky, she focused on developmental psychology as a science, talked about its process in the context of changes under the influence of historical, cultural and social developments, and stated that it is a never-ending process.
Irina Shapovalenko presented a number of theoretical questions and issues which she said need urgent solutions in the modern world. "In the modern world, it has become necessary to study developmental psychology for all ages and at all stages of human development, starting from preschool to adulthood," she stressed.
The associate professor also spoke about the scientific-practical conferences organized by the Chair she heads.
In her speech, he also spoke about the books, educational manuals and textbooks published by the lecturers of the Chair, which, she said, also cover children's mental health problems.
Let us add that a delegation of MSPPU is at ASPU for a one-week working visit. The visit aims to discuss cooperation directions and the main steps to be taken for the benefit of the two educational institutions and their students.
