At the initiative of the Student Council of the Armenian State Pedagogical University (ASPU), the University today hosted a meeting with high-schoolers.
The conventional professional orientation program brought together nearly 400 pupils from different schools across the country.
In booths, the students of the University's Faculties shared information about their respective Faculties, their educational programs and instructional-methodical handbooks, talked about their internships and gave professional advice.
President of the Student Council Paruyr Galstyan emphasized that besides presenting the University's activities and the educational processes, the Student Council is also planning on organizing joint excursions with the pupils.
“The Armenian State Pedagogical University prepares those with the most important profession in the world — pedagogues teach all the other specialists, right?” ASPU Vice-Rector for HR Management and International Cooperation Marianna Harutyunyan said and urged the pupils to love and honor the teaching profession, regardless of their choice of profession.
The Vice-Rector is certain that these pupils are the guarantors of the development and prosperity of our homeland and State. “You will be the ones to decide with your choice of profession, shaping of value system and self-sacrifice,” the Vice-Rector stated and assured that the doors of the University are always open for everyone.
ASPU Acting Chief of Staff and Director of Project Management Center Anahit Panosyan talked to the pupils about the cooperation of the ASPU with foreign universities and exchange programs, as well as about the opportunities of study abroad and participation in international programs during their course of study.
Head of the Programs and Airtime Assurance Department at Armenian Public TV Company, alumnus of the ASPU Sona Khachatryan talked about the peculiarities of media literacy.
Nona Khachatryan, one of the representatives of the Student Council, presented the Council's programs and activities, while Zhenya Abgaryan talked about all the advantages of studying at the ASPU.
Management expert Davit Mejlumyan was a guest speaker and delivered a lecture on “The Importance of Education in the Modern World”.
The pupils played the “Kahut” game and received prizes.
Let us mention that another professional orientation meeting with high-schoolers is scheduled for tomorrow as well.
