KHACHATUR ABOVYAN ARMENIAN STATE PEDAGOGICAL UNIVERSITY

Admission to distance learning Bachelor’s programs for the 2024-2025 academic year has started in different exam centers of the country. This year, Armenian State Pedagogical University (ASPU) has 837 applicants. Also, internal exams started at ASPU on October 19 in the following domains: Fine Art, Music Education, Dance Art, Art Photography and Camerawork. Admission for some specialties is already over. No appeals have been registered so far.

Talking to aspu.am, ASPU Vice-Rector for Education Naira Safaryan said examinations are conducted in accordance with the procedure; they are recorded and are available online on the University’s official website ensuring the transparency and objectivity of the entire process.

Naira Safaryan, who is in charge of educational processes at the university. emphasizes that a competition has been announced for all majors. She hopes that the results of the exams will be satisfactory, and all seats will be filled on a competitive basis.

By the way, this year some innovations have been introduced in the process that will help to somehow solve teacher shortages in the country.

Samvel Asatryan, Head of the Department for Education Management and Reforms at ASPU, added in turn that from now on graduates of secondary vocational state educational institutions and accredited non-state education institutions can take Bachelor's degree programs at ASPU without taking an entrance exam. Also, pedagogues without a degree who have stopped their professional activity in accordance with the requirement of Article 38, Clause 5 of the Law on Education can also participate in the process.

The results of the experimental admission will be summarized on October 25. Only after that will be possible to talk about the gaps and benefits of the system.
