The ASPU Museum in cooperation with the Faculty of Biology, Chemistry and Geography and Faculty of Foreign Languages has organized an exhibition entitled “Armenia and France” as part of events dedicated to the 17th edition of Francophonie summit in Armenia.
The exhibition includes joint Armenian-French postage stamps representing fragments of the 15th-century paintings and the greatest treasures in the Louvre, samples of French architecture, etc.
The collection was provided to the Museum by Ashot Babakhanyan, Candidate of Science (in Chemistry), Associate Professor of the Faculty of Biology, Chemistry and Geography ASPU and former president of the Union of Philatelists of Armenia. Visitors will also have an opportunity to see the medal given to Armenian National Commissar Ashot Babakhanyan which was given during the World Philatelic Exhibition "PhilexFrance 99".
Director of the ASPU Museum Alvard Grigoryan stressed the importance of the event in the context of Armenian-French historic relations and said it will promote interest towards the history and culture of France.
Tigran Mikaelyan, Dean of the Faculty of Foreign Languages, presented numerous facts about Armenian-French friendly relations. He also spoke about the participation of the Faculty lecturers and students at the Francophonie summit. In their speeches, the Faculty students presented French architecture and cuisine cuisine, as well as the life and activity of world famous Armenian-French singer Charles Aznavour.
