The next meeting of the “Ushinsky Club” international youth debate club focused on traditional family values and their changes in the modern world.
The debates are held within the framework of the cooperation between Armenian State Pedagogical University (ASPU) and Armavir State Pedagogical University of the Russian Federation in a blended format, combining online and face-to-face meetings.
The 4th meeting was attended by Anna Hakhumyan, Deputy Head of the Center for International Cooperation and Program Management at ASPU, Roman Bliźniak, Vice-Rector at Armavir State Pedagogical University, and Lyudmila Khludov, Head of International Programs, Acting Head of Department of Research and Innovation.
At the beginning of the meeting, Roman Bliźniak wondered how the young people of the two countries perceive traditional family values and what they know about each other's national peculiarities. He said that many Armenians live in Armavir. Has location and environment affected those values?
Welcoming her Russian colleagues, Anna Hakhumyan said that the topic was really important. She thinks the interconnection between family values and traditions can also be a topic of discussion.
"Nowadays, the family structure has undergone some changes. Every family has its own values, but there are things in common. Some values are passed down with traditions but time does its job. The Pedagogical University that educates and nurtures teachers, is also responsible for the formation of those values," she said.
The speeches were followed by a heated debate, with young people expressing their opinions on the subject matter. They stressed that it is necessary to raise such a generation that will emphasize family values and remain faithful to its traditions, at the same time adapting to the realities of the given period.
