ASPU and Perkins International start cooperation

On July 12, the Faculty of Special and Inclusive Education of Armenian State Pedagogical University hosted Darija Udovicic, Regional Director Europe/Eurasia at Perkins International (Perkins School for the Blind).

The purpose of the meeting was to outline visions for new cooperation, which will allow 12 lecturers of the Faculty to be trained within the framework of an internationally recognized modular programme. New courses are expected to be developed and introduced within the framework of the cooperation.

Also, students of the Faculty of Special and Inclusive Education will have an opportunity to work with children with multiple developmental disorders by using modern methodologies.

The meeting was attended by Harutyun Balasanyan, Director of Specialized Children’s Home of Kharberd, Siranush Karapetyan, Dean of the Faculty of Special and Inclusive Education at ASPU, Marianna Harutyunyan, Head of the ASPU International Cooperation Unit, and representatives from the teaching staff.

Taking into account the reforms underway in the sphere Siranush Karapetyan emphasized the importance of the initiative, describing it as extremely urgent and demanded.

Head of the International Cooperation Unit Marianna Harutyunyan hailed the start of cooperation, its continuation and students' involvement in the programme in the future.

The parties agreed to move forward with the signing of the agreement and start cooperation.
