Graduate of the Pedagogical University Faculty of Education Psychology and Sociology Ani Hovhannisyan has recently successfully defended her PhD dissertation at the University of St. Gallen in Switzerland.
According to Ani’s academic supervisor, from the very first years of studies Ani stood out with her great interest and motivation in psychology. And so, the knowledge acquired at the University formed the scope of her academic interest, which made it possible to summarize her knowledge beyond the borders of our country.
The ASPU Vice-Rector for Academic Matters Srbouhi Gevorgyan noticed that we had had multiple success stories in a number of foreign countries, but this was the first time that an ASPU graduate would defend a PhD dissertation in psychology at the University of St. Gallen in Switzerland. In addition, Professor Gevorgyan particularly highlighted the topic of her dissertation, which referred to the corruption risks at higher education system from the perspective of academic morality, the importance of appropriate conduct and practice of scientists, which had been much discussed recently. Likewise, within the scope of her dissertation Ani Hovhannisyan also spoke about academic patronage, which harmed not only the given person, but also, as practice showed, several years later the quality would affect many destinies, and people without adequate abilities and skills would occur not in their places and unable to wholly fulfil their mission.
Last but not least, Vice-Rector Gevorgyan added that there already existed an arrangement with Ani Hovhannisyan to hold online lectures, which, in fact, would be the best model of excellence and motivation for students.
