The Pedagogical University is hosting these days five lecturers from the University of Pardubice, the Czech Republic, who arrived in Armenia within the framework of the Erasmus+ program.
On September 18, the guests were received by Marianna Harutyunyan, ASPU Vice-Rector for Personnel and International Cooperation, PhD, Associate Professor. Welcoming the group, the ASPU official said business meetings with Czech colleagues are always welcome.
Together with the ASPU vice-rector, head of the Faculty of Special and Inclusive Education and the teaching staff, the Czech professors discussed the upcoming activity plan, including visits to Armenian orphanages to discuss issues regarding children with health and behaviour disorders.
The parties later discussed cooperation-related issues, including publication of articles in each side's periodicals, creating a joint manual and other issues.
The joint manual to be published in the near future will address issues faced by modern families of children with disabilities and will present the stance of Armenia and the Czech Republic on the issue.
As Dean of the Faculty of Special and Inclusive Education, Professor Gohar Hovyan, said later cooperation with the Czech university has a history of 3 years and they have amazing experience of student exchange; ASPU students study at the University of Pardubice for one semester, get acquainted with the peculiarities of the educational system in the Czech Republic. A few days ago, one of the students of the Faculty left to study at the University of Pardubice, she added.
This is the Czech professors’ second visit to ASPU on the sidelines of the Erasmus+ program.
The final results will be published in a booklet,” Tereza Azatyan, Head of the Chair of Special Pedagogy and Psychology, Doctor оf Pedagogy, Associate Professor, said in a conversation with aspu.am.
