The Armenian State Pedagogical University (ASPU) hosted the solemn opening of the annual “Nrneni” Intercollegiate Festival, which is a three-day event that has gathered the talented youth of 11 educational institutions under one roof. During the festival, the youth will test their potential in the genres of song, dance and recitation.
The aim of the competition, which is being held at the initiative of the Student Council, is to discover the talents of young creators. The event is one of the most beloved and anticipated events of universities.
The participants of the festival were greeted by ASPU Vice-Rector for HR Management and International Cooperation Marianna Harutyunyan, who attached importance to the idea of the cultural event that was created years ago and assured that it is impossible to build any kind of relation without culture since the latter lies at the core of everything and serves as the key component of the national identity.
Marianna Harutyunyan emphasized that the Armenian people have always stood out with their rich culture, and the youth of today are continuing and enhancing the heritage. There are representatives from nine universities, one vocational education institution and one high school. The Vice-Rector fully hopes the competition will expand year after year and that creativity and creators will receive the appreciation they deserve in the digital age.
President of the Student Council Paruyr Galstyan greeted the participants, wished successful performances and achievements and attached importance to the active cooperation of the educational institutions.
The speeches were preceded by musical performances by the ASPU Brass Band under the direction of Artistic Director Kolya Martirosyan.
The participants of the annual “Nrneni” Intercollegiate Festival performed songs in many genres as they presented the well-known and beloved songs of renowned Armenian musicians.
The jury, which comprised Dean of the Faculty of Culture Gevorg Tadevosyan, Assistant at the Chair of Music Education Armine Ojakhyan and President of the Student Council Paruyr Galstyan, assessed the participating students based on vocals, expressiveness and the overall impression.
