On May 6, the Faculty of Special and Inclusive Education hosted Astghik Topuzkhanian, a French-Armenian speech therapist at a neurology clinic in Lyon, France, who arrived in Armenia to provide free counseling to the servicemen wounded in the recent war in Artsakh.
During the meeting with ASPU representatives, the specialist highlighted the role of speech therapists and speech therapy services in France. Then she spoke about the opportunities for cooperation with doctors and introduced the latest tools, methods and approaches in the field.
The lecture was really important for the meeting participants since it discussed treatment options of speech disorders that the young people have acquired as a result of the war. Afterwards, Astghik Topuzkhanian held a discussion with the lecturers and students of the Faculty to discuss all the issues raised in her speech.
On behalf of the lecturers and students, Dean of the Faculty of Special and Inclusive Education Siranush Karapetyan thanked Astghik Topuzkhanian for the lecture and for introducing contemporary approaches in France to a number of issues.
