Lilit Grigoryan, a lecturer of the Chair of Chess and Sports, won first prize in the "Armenian Prime Minister's Cup 2023" tournament.
The awards ceremony started with the final round of the table tennis tournament, where the ASPU lecturer became winner in the age group over 41.
Lilit Grigoryan was awarded a gold medal, a symbolic prize and 1,000,000 Armenian Dram (AMD). The prize was handed over by Karen Giloyan, Deputy Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sport of the Republic of Armenia.
Let us add that Lilit Grigoryan came first in the same category for the second year in a row. She has a long career in sport and has won numerous prizes. She is a many-time champion and Master of Sports.
"When as an athlete you come first in professional sports, you want to retain the title of leader. The competition was tough. Like me, my opponent was a master of sports," Lilit Grigoryan said in a conversation with aspu.am. She is convinced that if table tennis is included in the tournament, it will help popularize the sport.
Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan congratulated the participants and winners. In his speech, he emphasized the importance of the tournament and inclusion of table tennis saying it will contribute to the development of a healthy lifestyle and competitive spirit.
