This year, the Faculty of Biology, Chemistry and Geography will have the first graduates completing a master’s degree programme in Landscape Planning.
Along with the studies, the students are making their first practical steps in the field of specialization. Guided by the imperative in urban design and city planning Tamara Mnatsakanyan, a 2nd year MA student of the same Faculty, suggested landscape ideas in Yerevan. Particularly, the “Green City” Action Plan was carried out in the city’s Davitashen community. The empty space was filled up, the smooth and straight section was lined with shrubs and vegetation. Flowers and trees were planted and an irrigation system was built.
The programme is likely to be included in the community development projects, particularly in landscape construction and maintenance projects.
