The monograph of Professor Lalik Khachatryan, Head of the Linguistics Research Laboratory at Armenian State Pedagogical University (ASPU), has been published.
The monograph entitled "Typology of the Grammar of Old Armenian" covers the problems in the typology of Old Armenian according to the language levels.
In morphology, he studied the number, declension and conjugation, and in syntax - the typology of sentences, subordinating conjunctions, and syntactic patterns of structures with auxiliary words.
Lalik Khachatryan observes the typology of the grammar of Old Armenian in three aspects: historical, synchronous and asynchronous.
In his monograph the author attempts to justify the viewpoint that the morphological system of Old Armenian is typologically an affixal structure combined with inflection, and the syntactic system meets the criteria of the typology of languages with nominal structure and is characterized by the type of languages with nominal structure.
The monograph can be used by students majoring in philology, master degree students, postgraduate students, professors and, by people who study issues of the history of the Armenian language.
