The 18th edition of the international research and practice conference “Young scientists, for Region’s Economy” was held earlier in December. The event was co-organized by the Volodga Research Center of the Russian Academy of Sciences, and the Armenian State Pedagogical University (ASPU).
Future sociologists from ASPU, University of Warmia and Mazury (Poland), Belarusian State University, Donetsk National University and Vologda Academy participated in the online conference.
Thirteen students from the Chair of Sociology and Social Work, Faculty of Educational Psychology and Sociology, and two students from the Faculty of History and Law represented ASPU during the conference.
The participants presented their reports and addressed questions to one another. As a result of joint discussions and exchange of opinions they tried to find answers to various sociological issues.
Talking to www.aspu.am, Professor Armen Sahakyan, Head of the Chair of Sociology and Social Work, said online conferences are an innovative platform for students. They give an opportunity to connect students from different universities, and promote professional dialogue and quality.
“We should do our best to make Sociology more interesting and attractive for students,” he said. The best reports were selected while summing up the results of the online conference.
The works of future sociologists Lilit Zagaby and Elmira Azaryan (“The Role of Youth in the Development of the Country”) came first. Diana Martirosyan and Anna Gevorgyan (Social Work with the Aged) were awarded laureate diplomas. The other participants received certificates.
The articles and reports of the conference will be published in Elibrary.ru, a scientific electronic library registered in Russian Science Citation Index (RSCI).
