ASPU student is a member of a grant winning group

Varduhi Mkrtchyan, a MA student of the Faculty of Mathematics, Physics and Informatics, who is also included in a research group of the Byurakan Astrophysical Observatory (BAO), recently participated in the call for grant funding opportunities announced by the Science Committee of the RA Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sport.

In the result of the competition, "Revelation of Earliest Stages in the Evolution of Galaxies through Multivariate Study of Galaxies" - the topic submitted by the 7-member research group was approved for funding.

It is due to mention that Varduhi Mkrtchyan is the only student in the research group headed by BAO Director Areg Mikayelyan.

Talking to aspu.am, Varduhi Mkrtchyan noted that she has participated in a number of courses and conferences on astronomy at the Pedagogical University. She particularly hailed joint initiatives between BAO and ASPU, within the framework of which the scope of participation in various events (including international courses and schools) has expanded.

The ASPU student confesses that the Pedagogical University gave her the opportunity to get acquainted with a number of astronomers and discuss issues related to astronomy in scientific circles.

Let us mention that the programme started in October 2021. The funding to the research group of the observatory will be provided for a five-year period.
