ASPU Students’ Exhibits at the National Gallery of Armenia Alaverdi Branch

Nature, historical and cultural values, photos of various life episodes and people, and each of them carry a piece of Armenia and love therein; the Alaverdi branch of the National Gallery of Armenia launched the exhibition of works of the ASPU Artistic Photography students named “My love, my Armenia…” on 25 April.

In addition to the students’ exhibits, photos by the RA distinguished artist Samvel Sevada are also demonstrated there.

The Director of the Alaverdi Art Gallery Rafayel Javakhyan congratulated the Lecturers and students of the Pedagogical University on launching the exhibition and mentioned that successful pieces of art were once again displayed to the audience of Alaverdi.

In his turn, the ASPU Head of the Chair of Artistic Photography, Professor Ruben Yerznkyan mentioned during his speech that he had been preparing for the exhibition in Alaverdi with great responsibility.

“Although I was not born in Lori, I still consider myself from Lori. The local audience of Alaverdi and the region have always been different for me. We brought this exhibition here from Gyumri, and we also had exhibitions in Shushi, Goris, Yerevan, Vanadzor and in other cities. We travel around different regions and as if present our reports to the people of those regions showing to them what’s happening in this sphere. And besides, we hope to find young people, who would love to become artistic photographers and will be interested in joining our University, getting the relevant education, and becoming professionals”, Ruben Yerznkyan mentioned.

Furthermore, Monika Nahapetyan, student, noted that such exhibitions were first of all very motivating and the works are presented to and noticed by other people. Besides, exhibitions seem to be quite binding for students to learn and create more.

Another student, Liana Balasanyan, originally from Lori, considers it a great honour having her works exhibited in her hometown.
“There are no criteria, achieving which you’d say “that’s it, enough”. We need to work and study ceaselessly, and never stop”, the student added.

At the end of the opening ceremony of the artistic photo exhibition “My love, my Armenia…” the Director of the Alaverdi branch of the National Art Gallery of Armenia awarded 11 students of the Pedagogical University with letters of acknowledgements, as well as presented the ASPU Rector Rouben Mirzakhanyan and the Lecturers with letters of acknowledgements from the Alaverdi Head of Community.

We would like to mention that the exhibition will remain open at the Alaverdi Art Gallery until 25 May.
