ASPU students participate in “Spring School” international program

From April 20 to 26, 6 students of the Faculty of Education Psychology and Sociology at the Armenian State Pedagogical University (ASPU) took part in the 8th international “Spring School” Program organized by Moscow State University of Psychology and Education.

The one-week visit featured courses, lectures, practical lessons, as well as introduction to the activities that the University’s scientific-educational centers carry out.

The first day of the visit began with a meeting with representatives of the Faculty of Education Psychology. The students of the ASPU were greeted by Dean of the Faculty Maria Safronova and Yulia Kochetova, Head of the Chair of Age Psychology named after L. F. Obukhova The students of the ASPU also paid a visit to the Scientific-Educational Center for Neurocognitive Studies (MEG Center MGPPU) where they were introduced to the only Magnetoencephalography (MEG) recording system for conducting neurophysiological and psychophysiological studies in the Russian Federation.

The students also visited the University’s Centers for Demonstrative Exams, Evidence-based Social Design, University-wide Multi-Disciplinary Psychology Center, as well as the one-of-a-kind “Rublevo” Student Center.

Through the educational program, the students of the ASPU attended an interactive lecture-discussion entitled “Modern Trends in Development and Age Psychology”, the practical course on “Psychological and Pedagogical Support to General Education Programs in Preschools and Elementary Schools”, the lecture on the Master’s Degree Program in Basics of General (Genetic) Psychology and participated in a student trivia game.

Participating in the open lessons at Experimental School #91 was also a major event for the representatives of the ASPU because here instruction is conducted based on the theory of Daniil Elkonin and Vasily Davydov.
At the end of the Program, the students were granted certificates of participation.

Both educational institutions are certain that the bilateral cooperation will provide the Universities with the opportunity to continue exchange of the best practices.

During a conversation with aspu.am, the students of the ASPU mentioned that the Program allowed them to share their opinions, as well as expand their professional knowledge and horizons in the areas of psychology and pedagogy.

Besides being educational, the visit also featured a cultural program (the students paid visits to symbolic, historical sites and went sightseeing in the capital and paid a visit to “Rosia” National Center located at the Expo Center).
