Karine Sargsyan and Lilit Martirosyan, students of Armenian State Pedagogical University (ASPU) majoring in the Russian language, have been awarded scholarships by the Moscow Mayor.
The names of the 15 Armenian students who received honorary scholarships following the results of the summer session of the 2023-2024 academic year were announced at a meeting of the Board of Trustees of the Moscow Mayor's Scholarship Program.
The hybrid meeting was attended by Karine Asirbabaeva, Head of the Department dealing with foreign compatriot organizations at the Moscow House of Compatriots, Armine Tyutyunjan, Chairwoman of the Board of Trustees of the program in Armenia, Hayk Melikyan, Manager of the Moscow House in Yerevan, as well as representatives of the Russian House in Armenia, members of the Board of Trustees, and representatives of Armenian universities.
ASPU was represented by Mariam Ispiryan, Vice-Rector for Education and Science.
The scholarships are granted based on students’ academic achievement, proficiency in Russian language, social activity, and other criteria. The participants also received certificates and gifts from the Moscow House of Compatriots.
Traditionally, 15 scholarships are awarded to students of Armenian State Pedagogical University after Khachatur Abovyan, Yerevan State University, Russian-Armenian University (RAU), Bryusov State University, as well as Vanadzor and Shirak universities.
