It is with deep sadness that we inform you that Sargis Gayijyan, Associate Professor at the Chair of Music Education, has passed away at 73.
From 1977 to 1991, Sargis Gayijyan was Vice-Dean for Academic Affairs at the Faculty of Culture. Since 1975, he gave lectures at the same faculty.
He carried out his scientific and pedagogical activities with unfailing dedication, teaching and educating dozens of generations of music pedagogues, and passing his experience and knowledge about conducting and instrumentation on to future generations. Sargis Gaijyan enjoyed the love and respect of his students and colleagues.
The ASPU leadership and lecturers express their deepest condolences to Sargis Gaijyan’s family. The memory of the meritorious educator will always be in the hearts of his colleagues and students.
