At the outset of this year, the Student Council of the Armenian State Pedagogical University (ASPU) held the 12th annual “Best Student” awards ceremony.
Like last time, the top 10 students of Faculties headed to Georgia again to spend their three-day vacation.
During the visit, the representatives of the ASPU became familiar with Georgian culture, paid visits to a number of historical and cultural sites, including Svetitskhoveli Cathedral, the Bodbe Convent where the body of Saint
Nino is buried, Sololaki District where the House-Museum of Tumanyan is located, and the Pantheon of Armenian Writers and Public Figures. They also took part in a city tour during which they toured the colorful and significant streets of Tbilisi, participated in a cruise and traveled on a ropeway.
The students also visited the ancient Georgian capital of Mtskheta, the Jvari cathedral and Kakheti region, after which they headed to Sighnaghi — the city of love.
Some of the students were visiting Georgia for the first time, and they assured that they had spent their vacation with great pleasure and interest and had gained new knowledge. And so, by learning about the significant episodes of Georgian history, the representatives of the ASPU were active during their vacation and now have unforgettable memories.
During a conversation with aspu.am, President of the Student Council Paruyr Galstyan expressed gratitude to the University’s administration for always supporting the Council’s initiatives. Galstyan assured that the “Best Student” competition will be ongoing since it promotes high academic performance of students and their involvement in many public and academic activities.
