KHACHATUR ABOVYAN ARMENIAN STATE PEDAGOGICAL UNIVERSITY

Access to an excellent education for all children across Armenia: with this mission and slogan, the Teach For Armenia Educational Foundation held a meeting with ASPU students. The meeting was organized within the framework of university-employer cooperation.

The Foundation offers a number of opportunities to students as well as to all those who believe that educational excellence and opportunity should reach every child. In particular, the Foundation offers growth of career, leadership development, application of knowledge in practice, etc.

“Employers have strict requirements, so it is difficult to enter a competitive market if one lacks serious practical skills and abilities. The Leadership Development Program gives students an opportunity to apply their knowledge and skills in practice,” said Rita Gevorgyan, Head of University-Employer Cooperation Centre.

The representative of the Teach For Armenia Educational Foundation says the specialists trained by the Foundation fill the shortage of teachers in the most vulnerable schools in regions. Representatives of Teach For Armenia believe that the program is a platform where different specialists can come up with new ideas and record big changes with small steps.

Rita Gevorgyan thanked the Foundation representatives for organizing the meeting and expressed hope that ASPU students will be actively involved in the program using their potential for the development of educational system and reforms in rural communities.
