The Center for Excellence in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) Education at Armenian State Pedagogical University (ASPU) continues to host schoolchildren from different parts of the country. The unique Center, which is equipped with the state-of-the-art laboratory equipment, computers and the necessary items, arouses great interest among schoolchildren. The aim of the visit is to develop children’s practical skills, deepen and supplement the knowledge they have acquired at school with practical training.
ON May 16, the Center hosted pupils from Basic School №172 named after Hakob Oshakan and the French College in Armenia. Accompanied by Professor Samvel Pipoyan, Head of the Chair of Biology, Chemistry and their Teaching Methods at ASPU, the guests visited the Biology and Chemistry labs, got acquainted with the technical equipment, devices, and laboratory materials. During the meeting, Professor Pipoyan shared his experience with the children, stimulating their interest in STEMW.
Shoghik Kesoyan, a biology teacher at Basic School №172, emphasized the importance of the visit, saying it is an important step for career orientation and knowledge acquisition. It is also a good opportunity for discovering the profession in a new way, applying it in practice, and developing practical skills in the well-equipped laboratories, the graduate of ASPU added.
