Civil defense drill at ASPU

A number of events were organized at ASPU within the framework of the World Civil Defense Day observed globally every year on March 1. In particular, lectures and reports were made by students, air-raid siren was sounded and people were evacuated from the building within the framework of the training exercise.

The goal of the training exercise was to introduce future teachers to civil defense activities, raise their preparedness and response to emergency.
Narine Sahakyan, Head of the Chair of First Aid, Emergencies and Civil Protection, says civil society protection is an important issue nowadays, especially for young people. In this context, future educators have work to do.

Lecturer Perch Karapetyan spoke about the actions and steps to be taken during air-raid sirens and advised not to panic and fear, stay calm and trust psychological groups.

Within the framework of the training exercise, a civil defense siren was sounded in the main building of ASPU, evacuation of people was organized and first aid was given.

The practical part was followed by a theoretical part. In their reports, Lilit Sargsyan and Satenik Mnatsakanyan, both 4-year students of the Faculty of Biology, Chemistry and Geography, dwelt on the main activities of civil protection, characteristics of modern wars, protection against the dangers resulting from military operations, civil defense shelters, etc.
