An exhibition of the final works of students of the Fashion Design Department of the Faculty of Art Education was held on May 25.
The collection featured 28 works of future fashion designers reflecting their knowledge gained during the years of study at ASPU, their skills to work with different types of fabrics and characteristics of styles.
The collection included works with a combination of national and trendy elements, new style solutions and interpretations, and clearly showed that the future fashion designers used different techniques and elements of design, and successfully matched shape, form, colour, and texture.
While creating the works, the students were supervised and guided by lecturers Hripsime Maronyan, Gayane Yeghiazaryan, Lilit Melikyan and Aram Nikolyan.
Collaboration between the students and lecturers continued in all stages – starting from the study of themes, drawing sketches to the final display.
During the final fashion show, the works of the future fashion designers were evaluated by a professional commission. The commission members were satisfied with the work done. They say the students were able to find topics, propose innovative solutions, express their knowledge and professional skills through them.
"The results are satisfying, we are impressed. Every year, students exceed the expectations we have from them during admission," Hripsime Maronyan said in a conversation with www.aspu.am and adding that the names of many of this year's graduates will be next to the names of professional designers in the future.
The runway show was followed by an oral exam, with the students presenting their collections theoretically, starting from the history, source of inspiration to the choice of techniques and textile.
