The regular international summer school, organised by the Pedagogical University, ended. This initiative brought numerous foreign students to Armenia this year.
The Pedagogical University has been organising this international educational and entertaining programme for studnets exchange for already seven years. And this year, the “Summer School 2019” international programme involved participation of more than 60 students. From the ASPU and foreign partner universities including from Russia, Belarus, Czech Republic, Poland, China, and Artsakh.
The unforgettable, exciting and eventful ten days were wrapped up at the ASPU Educational base in Aghavnadzor. The ASPU Vice-Rector for Personnel Matters and International Cooperation Ara Yeremyan congratulated the participants for the effective organization of the programme and noted that hopefully the participants made new friends, got acquainted with one another’s cultures and enjoyed rich and contentful student life.
“It is wonderful to see young people from various countries get together and exchange ideas, gain experience and skills. We would like to pass over our greetings to your universities, with which we are running effective cooperation”, mentioned the Vice-Rector and awarded the participants with Certificates.
Furthermore, the ASPU Head of the Department of International Cooperation Marianna Harutyunyan noticed that the programme for this year was also rich both with its cultural and educational components. The topics of lectures were specifically selected to include education philosophy, psychology, media impact on educational revolution, issues of inclusive education in various countries, and a number of other actual topics.
“This annual programme is not only an intercultural discourse, but also one of the best ways to equip the participants with a lot of new skills, knowledge, experience and discoveries; the participants are learning, comparing, and discovering new values”, said Marianna Harutyunyan and added that this is twice more important for the studnets of the Pedagogical University since they are getting familiarized with the internationalization processes right at “home”.
Likewise, the Head of the Department of International Cooperation added that they had listened to the suggestions made by the studnets throughout the programme and in future they would have a discussion with their partners on the necessity to implement changes in the programme for future development.
This year, the “Summer School” carried the “R- evolution” fast-growth title; within that scope the participants conducted studies in regards with educational reforms by running a surveying both among Armenian, and foreign students, continuing education in our country. The foreign language obstacle, different educational systems, lack of financial means, and the absence of the success guarantees, etc.; these are the main difficulties and issues outlined as a result of surveys conducted in groups involving studnets from various Universities. And even though during these days, the participants were not able to fully get familiarized with educational systems of one another, but they were able to share with their ideas and visions in regards with the educational reforms; they are fully assured, that education can unite the whole world.
At the official closing ceremony, a group of students presented their national songs and dances, short performances, humor episodes, and another group of them made a video presentation of the rich and busy ten days of sightseeing and various cultural events.
The foreign studnets were quite impressed with Armenia and the “Summer School 2019” programme, which was versatile and busy and very well organised.
