The high school-college of Armenian State Pedagogical University (ASPU) is celebrating its 30th anniversary this year. Various events and educational tours are planned as part of the jubilee celebrations.
Recently, on the initiative of History Teacher Armine Avanesyan, 10th graders of the Natural Science and Mathematics streams visited the Metsamor Historical and Archaeological Museum-Reserve. The group was accompanied by ASPU Professor Ashot Piliposyan.
The visit organized within the framework of the History subject had an educational and cognitive purpose. Prof. Piliposyan introduced the history of the ancient place to the students, stressing that various precious items and a wealth of artifacts discovered during excavations are preserved at the Metsamor Historical and Archaeological Museum-Reserve.
The pupils also watched a film about the museum-reserve, which further enriched their knowledge and impressions about the unique archaeological monument of the 6th century BC.
The children thanked the representatives of the Metsamor Historical and Archaeological Museum-Reserve and the Service for Protection of Historical Environment and Historical-Cultural Museum-Reserves for the warm welcome, and Ashot Philiposyan for sharing interesting historical facts about the Museum-Reserve.
