Today, the distant-learning students of the Pedagogical University welcomed the Deputy Armed Forces Commander and the Deputy of Utility Operations, Major Artur Ziroyan and Senior Officer of Social and Legal Affairs, Major Sargis Sargsyan.
The meeting was organised by the ASPU University-Employer Cooperation Centre and by the joint initiative of the StudentCouncil.
The aim of the students’ meeting with the Military Police Officials was to get familiarized with the military service conditions, existing opportunities in the system, rights and obligations.
Major Sargis Sargsyan highlighted that the nature of the work mainly refers to public order and added that the three-year service contract allows to combine education and work.
“The schedule of attendance to military service on contractual basis is more flexible, including two business weeks and same amount of days off; and in case of military service at the RA Border Protections, additional payment and days off are offered”, mentioned the Major Sargsyan and introduced the advantages of working in this system, such as medical insurance, social packages.
In addition, during the meeting with the students, Major Artur Ziroyan spoke about the free food, annual payments provided during the duty, as well as mentioned about a number of perks and opportunities for those having higher education; after a successful interview the title of Officer is awarded.
The service officers answered the students’ questions and assured that they are ready for effective cooperation and are looking forward to replenishing their team with knowledgeable members. The ASPU Vice-Rector for Personnel Matters and International Cooperation Ara Yeremyan thanked Major Artur Ziroyan and Sargis Sargsyan for the visit and emphasized that, in fact, it was very important to give the opportunity to the distant-learning students to be involved in such an honoured service.
