By the initiative of the ASPU Chair of Foreign Literature and Candidate of Chemistry, Acting Professor Ashot Babakhanyan, an event dedicated to the 220th anniversary of A.S. Pushkin was organised.
Among the guests of the event were the professoriate of the University, the students, guests from the Russian Centre for Science and Culture in Yerevan.
The Head of the Chair of Foreign Literature Professor Rouzan Tadevosyan greeted the participants and the guests of the event and stated during her speech that the necessity of Pushkin’s existence in our days, as well as the actuality of his heritage served as a proof of the poet’s “genius flight”.
In his turn, Ashot Babakhanyan presented the stand made of stamps dedicated to Pushkin, a part of which comprised stamps of Armenian writers and their sayings for the Russian poet.
The matinee was closed with the students reciting A.S. Pushkin’s poems.
