Every year, the Pedagogical University students of the Department of Choreography Pedagogy are taking their examination through a concert.
This year, the examination -concert was dedicated to the 150th anniversary of Komitas and the 115th anniversary of Aram Khachatryan. The choreographic performances reflected the results of the students’ one-year work, activities and creative approaches combined in the knowledge and performing skills acquired in the process of studying.
This concert was special particularly from the perspective of dance performances being staged on Komitas’ and Aram Khachatryan’s musical pieces.
As Komitas once said, dances reflect characteristic features of each nation, and particularly their mentality and degree of civilisation. With their performances the students not only characterised the mentality and civilisation of their people, but once again proved that the choreography of the Armenian nation is in safe hands with their high-level performance.
In their turn the members of the Assessing Committee highly valued the students’ examination-concert and hoped for the graduates to become the true heirs and devotees of the centuries-old Armenian dances as Choreography instructors, and have the willingness to disseminated their knowledge throughout generations.
Last but not least, we would like to mention that the Candidate of Pedagogy, Associate Professor Vera Avetisyan is the Supervisor of the graduate class of the 2018-2019 academic year, and Tatevik Simonyan is the lecturer -performance instructor.
