“Golden Autumn” exhibition opens at the Faculty of Primary Education

The "Golden Autumn" exhibition opened at Armenian State Pedagogical University (ASPU) at the initiative of the Student Council of the Faculty of Primary Education.

The aim was to present the didactic materials and teaching aids and items created by students, exchange ideas, and acquire skills to create new materials.

“To focus on learning goals, encourage vocabulary building, teach children to take care of nature, understand the importance of plants and animals, develop their sentence building skills, thinking and creativity, perform arithmetic operations in a short time, etc.,” the students added.

The title of the exhibition "Golden Autumn" symbolizes not only the brilliance and colours of autumn, but also the rich educational materials that future educators have prepared as a real asset for their professional development.

“Not only do such events promote professional development, but also create new platforms for cooperation and exchange of experiences, which are especially valuable in the field of education,” they added.

In conversation with www.aspu.am, Arus Ayvazyan, President of the Student Council of the Faculty of Primary Education, emphasized the importance of involving freshmen, sophomores, juniors, and seniors in the event, adding  that the displayed works, except those made by the freshmen, had also been used during internships and proved to be effective. She says the didactic and educational materials are really valuable; they develop sensitivity and are used during the work process.

Dean of the Faculty Heghine Khachatryan had managed to study the exhibited works. She highly appreciated the students' flight of ideas and imagination, the creative tasks and assignments they were to solve on different subjects. She says nowadays it is extremely important to develop future educators’ orientation, especially in unusual situations. The dean of the faculty emphasized that in addition to being beautiful, the handicrafts stand out for their purpose and educational content; they show students’ professional maturity.

Head of the Chair of Pedagogy, Professor Aida Topuzyan added in turn that it is important that the students understood the aim of their work and chose the right ways to achieve it.
