Alexander Spendiaryan Opera and Ballet National Theatre in Yerevan hosted the final exam concert of the fourth-year students of the Faculty of Culture majoring in dance education.
"Khatabala" (Quandary), "A Piece of Sky", "First Love Song", "Songs of Solomon", "Mother", "Zangezur", "Sayat Nova" and other Armenian films were presented through dance performances - in the language of ‘His Majesty Dance.’ The choreographic performance entitled "Hayfilm is dancing" was dedicated to the 100th anniversary of Armenian cinema.
The end of each academic year is marked by a memorable dance performance by students who are in their final year in the Dance Education Department - a cultural event that is highly appreciated by the final examination committee and the audience.
Thanks to the unfailing dedication, enormous work and professional mentoring of Associate Professor Vera Avetisyan and Lecturer Tatevik Simonyan, the students performed dance compositions, demonstrating a professional level of individual and group performance they have achieved during the four years of study at ASPU.
"They say knowledgeable and educated students are the guarantors of national security of any country. In that context, I want to add that the guarantor of the security and identity of our state is also the choreographer educator, who will step into different educational centers with an entire arsenal of Armenian dance art, will share his skills and knowledge with future generations, preserving our national culture and passing on the Armenian identity to them,” said Karen Gevorgyan, Head of the Chair of Dance Education. He added that he gets emotional every year as if he is graduating from university.
The professor says one could hardly view a more spiritual, cultural and national event dedicated to the 100th anniversary of Armenian cinema; the only thing he wants to do is to say words of gratitude and appreciation, and praise the students.
On behalf of the ASPU Rector, Karen Gevorgyan congratulated the graduates of the 2022-2023 academic year, wishing them cultural achievements for the sake of Armenian culture and Armenian pedagogy.
