The ASPU Faculty of Foreign Languages Chair of Romance- Germanic Languages and their Teaching Methods organized an international conference.
The conference headed “Language and Society” was attended by specialists of English, Russian and Spanish languages from Armenia and abroad. Some of them participated in the conference remotely, through an online platform. The participants presented certain range of issues of modern language and society interaction from their own perspective.
Likewise, a detailed presentation was made on theory and languages, sociolinguistics, pragmatic linguistics, discourse analysis and stylistics from the perspective of interaction of language systems.
Lecturers from different universities also participated in this conference, where they referred to various issues from scientific perspective, and guided through finding answers to a number of questions.
The conference was held in two parallel sessions for lecturers and for students, where participants from Finland, the RF, Greece, and Spain presented their reports.
The participants of the conference were greeted by the Head of the Chair of Romance-Germanic Languages, Candidate of Philology, Associate Professor Tigran Mikaelyan, who noted that the aim of organizing the conference was to highlight and discuss the mutually complementary phenomena of language and society on a scientific level, to review their interdisciplinary connection form sociolinguistic and psycholinguistic perspectives.
