International expert of the European Commission Arminas Varanauskas was at the Armenian State Pedagogical University (ASPU) as part of Media Literacy Week.
During the interactive meeting with students of the ASPU Faculty of Primary Education, the expert talked to the future teachers about the importance and challenges of media literacy and media education in the age of artificial intelligence, the opportunities that they have to offer and the right way of using media literacy and media education in teaching.
Arminas Varanauskas brought a number of examples of how one can avoid bait in the age of media and not perceive something created by artificial intelligence as the real thing.
During the meeting, the speaker also talked about the information algorithms that personalize an individual’s online experience, as well as confirmation bias.
Through games, the future teachers also developed their abilities and skills in information exchange and in the literate and efficient use of that information.
