On November 14, a concert by the choir of the Faculty of Primary Education was held at Armenian State Pedagogical University (ASPU). It was dedicated to the anniversary of Vachagan Navasardyan, the conductor of the choir, Professor at the Chair of Preschool Education and Methods.
During the concert, the choir performed beloved and famous works by Arno Babajanyan, Khachatur Avetisyan, Komitas, and Aleksey Hekimyan.
Vachagan Navasardyan has been working at the Faculty of Primary Education for more than 40 years. As his colleagues say, those have been years of unremitting dedication, conscientious work and creation for the artist pedagogue.
Working with the choir for many years, the professor has spared no effort to shape the aesthetic taste of students and improve the quality of music education.
“Without words music says everything we want to express. This was not just a concert performed by our choir; it was also a presentation of the maestro's life path within the University walls. "Vachagan Navasardyan's activity have been highly appreciated on various occasions; today we once again had an opportunity to enjoy the results of his dedication and professionalism," Dean of the Faculty Heghine Khachatryan said when congratulating the professor on his birthday.
Armenuhi Manukyan, Head of the Chair of Preschool Education and Methods, said it was a great honour [for her] to work with a person who has gone a long way and has had his contributions to the choral activities and music education in Armenia. On behalf of the entire staff of the Chair, she once again congratulated Vachagan Navasardyan and gave him a collection of chants (hymns), wishing him an inexhaustible voice, energy, and robust health.
ASPU Rector Srbuhi Gevorgyan, who was also present at the event, said she had had the honour to be one of the maestro’s students. The rector recalled the years when Vachagan Navasardyan taught her, his unique teaching approach with which the educator, who has played a major role in the field of preschool education, has always stood out and still continues his professional activity.
