“Dear graduates, teachers and pupils, I congratulate all of us on this important and significant occasion: we will remember this day throughout our lives. I am sure that in the upcoming years we will have many successes in education, the basis of which is the beautiful, colorful and happy period that we have spent in school with our beloved teachers," pupils of the graduating class of the ASPU Base College said in their farewell speech on May 26.
In the educational center rich in the best educational traditions, the "Last Bell" sounded for the 29th time - this year for 142 pupils from 4 streams.
Congratulating the children on the occasion of the last class and last bell, Araksia Svajyan, Deputy Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sport of the Republic of Armenia, said May 26 marks the end of an important period of life; children enter into a big life with new challenges. She is sure that the knowledge and skills acquired at school will help them achieve great success in life.
ASPU Rector Srbuhi Gevorgyan congratulated the graduating children on behalf of ASPU professors and students. She said that the years of study have become the basis for important and serious changes for them. In that context, she emphasized the role and influence of the environment, teachers and ASPU teaching staff, ‘thanks to whom today we are dealing with mature personalities.’ "Once again, I want to value and emphasize the importance of education, historical values and manifestation of identity. They are the basis of our country, our strength. I am sure you will have many more occasions and opportunities to be proud of your successes," the professor said.
Her speech was followed by songs, dances, warm and heartfelt wishes for the day. In their speeches, the children also focused on one of the most responsible decisions every graduate makes in life – that of career choice.
They assured the attendees that many of them are determined to continue their studies at ASPU. "Our unique generation promises to join the ranks of the best doctors and journalists, professional dancers and artists, the smartest mathematicians and translators for the sake of the state and homeland. Along with that, we promise not to lose the most important thing - the title of ahuman being."
ASPU Vice-Rector for Education Naira Safaryan, who headed the college for many years, said it was a great honour and pride [for them] to say goodbye to the 29th generation of children.
Naira Safaryan congratulated all school-leavers in Armenia, Artsakh, Javakhk and the Diaspora, wishing them not to forget that they are the most powerful. She said during the years at school, they have overcome numerous difficulties with great responsibility and seriousness and will continue to strengthen our country.
The children know that they will face difficulties in the future as life is impossible without them. However, they are convinced that they will overcome them. They have been taught in their school to hold their heads high and not to be afraid of difficulties.
The the graduating class also remembered the feats and sacrifice of those brave men who fought for the homeland, mixed their blood with the soil, and to love fervently.
They are proud that the college has educated and will continue to educate heroes, honest and worthy children of the Homeland. "Let our beloved college shine from achievements and victories," they said wrapping up the event with the Armenian national dance "Berd".
