Love Theme in Students’ Exhibition

It’s already the second year exhibition-competitions are held by the art students from different universities within the scope of the celebration of St.Sargis day.

This year the third exhibition was held at the Pedagogical University. More than thirty diverse works on the topic “Power of Love is Invincible” were presented by the students of the University; among the exhibited pieces there were paintings, sculptures, graphics, tapestry, batik, etc.

The exhibition was opened with the Lord’s prayers followed by speech of the officiating Priest Yesayi Artenyan of St.Sargis Church of the Ararat Patriarchal Diocese; he spoke about the main aim of the initiative highlighting that it was one of the best ways of raising the awareness of the celebration.

“Getting initially acquainted with the sacrament and story of St. Sargis the participants are able to reflect their knowledge on canvas, in sculpture or bring it to any other artistic form and to present it to public”, mentioned Priest Yesayi Artenyan and passed on the blessing of the Archbishop Navasard Kchoyan Vicar of the Ararat Patriarchal Diocese.
In addition, Priest Yesayi Artenyan granted acknowledgement notes to the participants and noticed that each presented work revealed divine love and bore the Lord’s sacrament. Likewise, we would also like to particularly emphasize and highlight the divine love on the celebration of St. Sargis, the love that accompanies us in life and creation.
“Students managed to get closer to the theme and to create unique pieces. We need to present the correct meaning of the topic and to bring it to students so that young people perceive it just like history passed it on to us”, said the Head of the Chair of Painting of the Faculty of Art Education Pharaon Mirzoyan adding that it was obvious based on their works that the theme had become much more understandable for the students.

The President of the Students Council of the Faculty of Art Education Zarouhi Khachatryan expressed the power of love in form of a woman.
“Such exhibitions are very important for students; this is a form of self-expression as well as a good way to present the works to wider public”, noticed the student.

The exhibition was of a competitive nature; the authors of the best works will receive monetary awards. In future one more exhibition will be opened in future.
