Meeting the Participants of the Four-Day War of April

Vahe Atanyan, Gagik Avetisyan, Edgar Botsinyan, Ara Harutyunyan, Tigran Tovmasyan, Mesrop Harutyunyan- they all are third -year students of the Faculty of History and Law, who participated in the four-day war of April.

At the meeting organized on the third commemoration year of military activities with the abovenamed persons the Dean of the Faculty Edgar Hovhannisyan once again stated that they are the heroes of our days and that we are proud of them. Besides, the Dean added that holding this kind of meetings in the auditorium after Mekhak Mekhakyan was also very symbolic for the lecturers and students; it was both an honour and a huge responsibility for the current generation of students, and the image of the hero of the first battle of Artsakh, the graduate of our University, Faculty of History was an example of patriotism, genuine Armenian, human kind and courage. In addition, Edgar Hovhannisyan presented the students with Garegin Nzhdeh’s “Remember the War” and other books, which would help the young men to strengthen their knowledge during the learning process.

The meeting proceeded with students’ reports that also referred to Armenian women, who at all times in the course of history were next to their men and not only encouraged them but also participated in various liberation movements. Readings organized by the Student Scientific Society were dedicated to the role of women in Armenian and world histories. Women, known for their revolutionary and public activities throughout the Armenian, European and world histories, including the participants of the Armenian Revolutionary Movement [Armenian Haydukyan Movement] and Empresses, were introduced in around twenty reports.
