Recently, Armenian State Pedagogical University hosted representatives of the National Erasmus+ Office in Armenia (NEO-Armenia). The visit arranged within the framework of Erasmus+ BOOST project /Boosting Armenian Universities Internationalization Strategy & Marketing/ aimed to follow up with the process of the project.
During the meeting, ASPU and representatives of Armenian partner HEIs (American University of Armenia and Yerevan State Conservatory after Komitas), presented the achievements the universities have had since the start of the project and the changes aimed at promoting internationalization of Armenian HEIs.
Marianna Harutyunyan, Head of the International Cooperation Unit at ASPU, presented the final results of the project: development of a 5-year national strategy of internationalization and action plan, national model of educational programmes, the benchmarks for the internationalization standards., etc.
Among the outcomes of the project, she singled out development of institutional marketing strategies and mobility regulations, launch of a website (www.studyinarmenia.am), creation of the video “Why study in Armenia?” and indicators for measuring internationalization, acquisition of equipment, as well as Human resource development through training. Marianna Harutyunyan also presented the actions taken by the RA Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sports to ensure the sustainability of the programme.
Let us note that ASPU was the coordinator of Erasmus+ BOOST Project which ended in October 2020. The Armenian partners of the project were American University of Armenia, Shirak State University after M. Nalbandyan, Yerevan State Conservatory after Komitas, Vanadzor State University after H. Toumanyan, the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sports of the Republic of Armenia, and the National Information Center for Academic Recognition and Mobility. The EU partners were the Universitat Politecnica De Catalunya (Spain), Universitat Rovira I Virgili (Spain), Tallinna Tehnikaulikool (Estonia), Kungliga Tekniska Hoegskolan (Sweden) and Instituto Superior Técnico (Portugal). The objective of the Project was to foster and promote further internationalization of Armenian Higher Education through the development of national and institutional policy framework and tools.
