Students Scientific Society; Traces of History
The students of the Pedagogical University met the founder of the  University publishing house “Mankavarzh/Pedagogue” which was initiated by the Student Scientific Society

The speaker, who used to be the president of the Student Scientific Society of the Erevan state  University for ages, introduced the history of the establishment of the Society, the path it went through, the first scientific clubs, his role in the club activities and in preparation of highly qualified human resources.

“From the early beginning of the University establishment there was a lack of literature, thus several students would gather and use one and the same book. The existence of such students’ working groups set the ground for the initial formation of Students Scientific Societies.

During the gatherings a subject was selected by the group members who then developed interesting discussions over it.  This was followed by the preparation of publications of the activity. Further on, clubs and students research groups coordinating the Students Scientific activities were created under the Chairs,” Kim Avagyan mentioned.

Moreover, the latter highlighted the fact that students were involved in special research groups. In fact, quite famous scientists, prominent people once started their activities in these scientific clubs and Students Scientific Society, when still students, they demonstrated high level of activity and research abilities.

In addition, during the meeting, the students actively raised their questions with the help of which they also tried to find out the traditions of the Students Scientific Society.

In reply to the question how he evaluated the current students’ involvement and interest in scientific activities, Kim Avagyan underlined the following, “In the past, people’s live interaction was very significant and much more useful. But parallel to the development of technologies, students’ threshold of consciousness has decreased, despite the fact that today too, a large number of students are staying true to the old traditions.”
