Master Classes within the Scope of the 3rd MediaForum

From 17-20 October, the third international mediaforum headed “At the Foot of Ararat” is held in Armenia; on this occasion around 36 representatives of the prestigious Russian

 and European mass media arrived to Armenia. 
 
 Among the guests of the mediaforum were the RA Prime-Minister, the Head of the Management Board of the Pedagogical University Mr. Tigran Sargsyan and the RA Minister of Culture Ms. Hasmik Poghosyan.
 
“The basic resource of the modern world is the intellectual person; for this reason serious improvements should be implemented in the education sector, to prepare people to live in this rapidly changing World”, Tigran Sargsyan mentioned.
 
The President of the media-congress of journalists of Europe and Asia Mr. Ashot jazzoyan spoke about the forum “At the Foot of Ararat” and highlighted that it aimed to unify all the journalist of the world for them to work outside their countries and to learn about the Republic of Armenia, its priorities and projects. Besides, Ashot Jazzoyan was happy to notice that this year the geography of the forum was expanded; Armenia has welcomed journalists from Ukraine, Spain, France, Moldova, Russia and some other countries.
 
In the course of the mediaforum, a round-table discussion was arranged where the representatives of the leading printed press introduced with their viewpoints about the forum and contemporary press. 
 

In addition, the third international mediaforum “At the Foot of Ararat” was followed by master classes for the students of the Faculty of Journalism at the universities of Armenian. 
In this Regards, the chief editors of the newspapers “Argumenti Nedeli” and the “Novie Izvestia” Mr. Andrey Uglanov and Mr. Valeriy Yakov delivered master classes at the Pedagogical University. In the framework of the master class that took place in questions & answers format, the Russian journalists introduced the peculiarities of the journalism sector, after which they spoke about the process of creation of printed press, necessity of the censorship and problems that the journalism is facing now. 
 
“Journalism is the same in all corners of the world, and the journalists are people who are simply a specific kind of link between the events and occurring, and the society,” the Chief Editor of the “Novie Izvestiya” newspaper.
 
Moreover, the latter is sure that professional education is not necessary for becoming a good journalist; this is also stated by the statistical data. 
 
“21st Century is the era of the universal journalism, while the best feature of a journalist is the curiosity towards the life; in spite of the field you are writing about, you will surely have a failure in an opposite one.”
 
“Listen and verify” is the advice of the Chief Editor of “Novie Izvestiya” newspaper; moreover, he is sure that only the freedom of journalism will make it possible to have a good

 government, to change the society and the world. In order to be a good journalist in today’s “Digital World” only the writing skills are not enough, one needs to know languages, master photography, and be able to criticize their one selves.
 
“Furthermore, the Chief Editor of the “Argumenti Nedeli” newspaper Mr. Andrei Uglanov was rather sorry to notice that there is no printed press in Armenian in Russia, then he added that he had made a suggestion during the meeting with the Head of the Government so that either the Government or the Ministry of Culture make their contribution to the leading Russian newspaper, thus giving an opportunity to the Armenian starter journalists to be published there and why not , to become the best journalist of Armenian in Russia.
 
To conclude at the end of the meeting the guests were accompanied by the ASPU Vice Chancellor Ms. Srbouhi Gevorgyan to the University’s museum where they got acquainted with the history and chronology of the University and wrote down about their impressions in the memorial note-book.
