Fashion Show- from Armenian National Costumes to European Clothing

“Within the framework of events on “European Heritage Days” the Pedagogical University participated in an exhibition arranged on 29-30 September, which aimed at introducing

 the centuries-old Armenian cultural heritage with a new approach.
 
“The exhibition was organized in the Sardarapat Memorial Complex, National Museum of History and Ethnography of the Armenian liberation movement and was headed “From Armenian National Costumes to European Clothing” and “Armenian Sewing Skills”. 
 
On this exhibition the Pedagogical University was presented by Assistants of the Chair of Design and Decorative –Applied Arts on the Faculty of Art Education Lilit Meliqyan, Candidate of Pedagogical Sciences Gayane Yeghiazaryan, and an MA student Liana Amroyan.
 
The exhibition displayed needlework, national costumes, and modern clothing. The exhibitions were accompanied by discussions which were conducted by the Deputy Director of Scientific Part of the Museum, lecturer at the ASPU Chair of Theory and History of Art and Culturology, Candidate of Historical Sciences, Ethnographer Svetlana Poghosyan. 
 
 
In addition, particular attention was paid to the macramé and unique samples of laced clothes authored by Gayane Yeghiazaryan, which were demonstrated by graceful and elegant students of the Faculty of Art Education. Moreover, in the “European” nomination Gayane Yeghiazaryan was awarded the first price, while Lilit Meliqyan and Liana Amroyan were granted notes of gratitude.
