Ara Yeremyan, Vice Rector for Scientific Affairs and Postgraduate Studies, held a recurrent meeting with the heads of chairs and deputy deans of ten faculties.
During the meeting, Head of the Scientific Research Centre Kamo Vardanyan referred to the preparation of the scientific conference to mark the 90th anniversary of the Pedagogical University.
The latter presented the format of scientific articles and other requirements, as well as the number of articles received from the Pedagogical University and other higher educational institutions. October 19 was set as deadline for submitting articles.
Head of the Postgraduate Department Sima Vardanyan presented the results of the study conducted with the aim of structural changes and re-training of scientific and pedagogical staff of the University.
In her speech she stressed that the same shortcomings and problems exist in almost all faculties and chairs of the University. “The study aimed to determine whether the research topics had been approved by the Scientific Council, the extracts were compliant with the records of the given chair or faculty and other issues,” she said.
Sima Vardanyan underlined that it was the first-ever study in the University which, she said, would become a continuous process.
In his turn, Ara Yeremyan assured the attendees that scientific activity would become a key factor and priority in the Pedagogical University.
He reminded that in the last five years the University had been announcing competitions to fill the vacant positions, regarding the scientific activity as a key criterion for the announced position.
He also noted that during the selection process one’s long-term experience will not be as important as his scientific work. Similarly, the candidate’s [young] age cannot become a barrier for his scientific activity.
