The ASPU Associate Professor of the Chair of Psychology, Candidate of Psychology Ms. Marinei Mickaelyan published her educational-methodological manual headed “Methods and Methodology of Psychological and Pedagogical Research”.
The manual introduces the methodology used for the psychological and pedagogical research, the planning and implementation logic, the type of research and the experimental methods applied, as well as the peculiarities of observation, experiment, survey, testing, research data analysing methods, and application thereof.
Besides, the book comprises information on compiling and reviewing scientific work, as well as the relevant presentation requirements.
The manual is foreseen for undergraduate students specialising in psychology and pedagogy, MA students, Applicants of the Chair of Psychology and Chair of Pedagogy, PhD students, and pedagogues, who are conducting independent research activities.
According to the author, the students of pedagogical universities are conducting psychological and pedagogical activities while writing their essays, graduation papers and postgraduate theses.
“Young specialists should master both the theory and practical-experimental part of research, analyse and bring together the final data, come up with proposals and make assignments”, Ms. Marinei Mickaelyan mentioned in her interview to the aspu.am adding that among the mandatory requirements of professionalism of future psychologists and pedagogues are research skills, organising an experimental activity, application of methods, and interpretation of the outcomes.
Numerous pedagogue-psychologists are practicing in educational sector, and according to Ms. Marinei Mikaelyan higher pedagogical educational institutions should train specialists with high level of theoretical and methodological knowledge.
