“Our School was So Good”; Farewell to the Elementary School

By staging the festive programs of "Cheerful Rings" TV channel, 35 students of 4th grade of the ASPU Elementary Schools #57 bid their farewell to the elementary school and moved to secondary school.

During the programs, those present together with the students remembered the past four years, sang songs, had fun, got rejoiced, sad, and proud.

“Our school is so good that the registrations for the first grade have already been made here for those, who would like to study here, and now, there is no more place in the class. Oh hold, looks like there is still one place available”, with half a joke, once again the students assessed the role and importance of their native school.

The 4a grade teacher, with around 40 years of pedagogical experience, Karineh Chibukhchyan joined the teachers’ team of the Basic School #57 of the Pedagogical University.

“Pedagogy is not merely a profession; I am proud to be a teacher as it is a lifestyle, isn’t it? The Base School of the Pedagogical University gives you wings, and wide range of opportunities to create; it has a formulated team, and the University provides all sort of support for you to fulfill even the wildest ideas.

Likewise, Karineh Chibukhchyan observed that the 4 years had flown surprisingly fast with everything having taken place; but she would like for the students to preserve only the bright and pleasant memories. She would like them to be patriotic, honest and happy, just as she had taught them to.

In addition, she advised to the teachers of the secondary school to be guided by the famous commandments to love their students, like she did.

“They may be different, quiet, active, they don’t like to sit in the same place but you need to trust and believe them, only that way you will be able to overcome the obstacles”.

The author of a number of methodological articles will have a new first grade this year, where she will teach to read, write, and make friends; in fact, this year the school will have 62 new first grade pupils in two classes.

Many of the first-grade pupils were present at the farewell event together with their parents, where they got acquainted with the school, and received stationery as a gift from their senior friends as a form of encouragement.

The Director of the Base School Ms. Naira Toghanyan considered the previous academic year rather difficult, full of new challenges; at first it was the pandemic together with the online classes, then the war and its consequences, which we still need to overcome.

“Children are very young but they feel and understand everything.”

The Director of the School considers the 4a class an exceptional one, noticing that it is very important to first of all keep the accomplishments, to not lower the bar, and to move forward.

“In case of a talented class, like ours, this objective becomes twice as difficult, as the pupils have a strong connection with the teacher, who in this case also takes the role of a parent. Love, striving to be a human; she educated patriotic persons”.

This year, the ASPU base School #57 will be teamed up with a new teacher. Ani Soghomonyan, who moved to Yerevan from Stepanakert, has sixteen years of pedagogical experience. It was hard for her to make the decision to move, but she has the same mission, to educate knowledgeable and patriotic generation that will be able to face new challenges.

“When I meet children, I want to holding their hand and to climb up”, added the new teacher of the school.
