A training course held within the Financial Education at School programme started at ASPU.
Mathematics and social studies teachers, as well as class teachers from Yerevan and marzes are participating in the training initiated by the Central Bank and the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sport.
The programme aims to develop skills [first among teachers and later among schoolchildren] to manage their own finances, including the component of financial education in four subjects - Me and the Surrounding World, Mathematics, Sociology and Algebra.
The training has several phases; each phase consists of three days. It is conducted by specialists who were trained within the framework of the same programe from 7 to 10 August.
Talking to aspu.am, Rita Gevorgayan, Coordinator of the Financial Education at School programme, said that among training specialists are representatives from ASPU. She stressed ASPU’s involvement in training for a number of reasons: ASPU representatives will deepen their knowledge of financial education, they will share their teaching experience with future teachers, etc. “As a result, future teachers will enter schools armed with knowledge about the programme.”
About 3000 teachers from Yerevan and marzes will be trained in the next two years within the Financial Education at School programme.
