On 16-17 May, the first Austrian -Armenian Contact Session was held in Yerevan with the assistance of the Austrian Erasmus+ National Office and the Erasmus+ Armenian National Office.
Tigran Babayan, the Lecturer of the Chair of Geography and its Teaching Methods, and Gohar Arakelyan, Specialist of the Department of International Cooperation, participated in the session from the Pedagogical University.
The main objectives of the seminar were to introduce the parties with peculiarities of higher education systems of Armenia and Austria, initiate bilateral exchange programmes for the students (training programmes, internships) and the University stuff within the framework of the Erasmus+ International Credit Mobility, as well as to generate new concepts for Erasmus+ developing capacities in higher education sector, to apply for scholarship competitions, and to introduce Armenian participants with the opportunities offered by the Austrian Development Cooperation APPEAR project.
Likewise, during the visit, the infrastructures and educational programmes of the universities, as well as the best practice examples of the participating countries were also presented. The Austrian delegation consisted of 22 representatives, 12 universities and national agencies, and the Armenian representation consisted of 40 members from 22 universities of Armenia.
The ASPU representatives highlighted that the two-day seminar would give a chance for the University to establish new relations with their Austrian counterparts and to initiate various agreements within the scope of the EU funded Erasmus+ project.
